FAQ & travel

A few things to help you plan your trip.

Which airport should I fly into?

Portland International Jetport (PWM) is our recommended airport. It's at 1001 Westbrook Street, Portland, ME 04102, roughly 60 miles from Boothbay Harbor. Allow about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes for the drive, and extra time for summer traffic.

What's the best way to get there and around?

We recommend renting a car at PWM and reserving it in advance. From Portland, the usual route is I-295 North to US Route 1 North, then Route 27 South toward Boothbay Harbor. Use the venue map links for the final directions to each location.

Downtown Boothbay Harbor is easy to explore on foot, but the ceremony at Ocean Point is outside town, so plan transportation between your lodging and the venues. Allow extra travel time, especially along Route 1 through Wiscasset.

What should I pack for the coast?

Bring a light layer for cooler evenings by the water and comfortable shoes for exploring. Check the forecast before traveling; coastal weather can change quickly.
